SL—26 Operational transformation · Asset-intensive industries

Heavy industry. Hard problems. Real momentum.

Spark Logic works with the operators of critical infrastructure — rail, mining, ports and logistics — to solve the operational problems that constrain them, and to make the change stick.

01 The firm

We work where capital is heavy, downtime is expensive, and small operational gains are worth millions.

Spark Logic is a specialist consultancy for asset-intensive industries. We bring an engineering and physics foundation together with Lean Six Sigma, operations research, and systems and design thinking — applied to the planning, scheduling and decision-making that determine how hard your assets actually work.

We are deliberately small. You work directly with the principal, the analysis is done properly, and nothing is delegated to a leverage model. What a large firm does with a team and a timeline, we do with focus.

02 Capabilities

Six ways we make operations work harder.

C.01

Operational transformation

Diagnosing where value is lost, redesigning the operating model, and leading teams through the change so improvements are adopted — and still there a year later.

C.02

Supply-chain throughput

Lifting the capacity and reliability of heavy supply chains. Better planning, scheduling and cycle-time performance that extracts more from the assets you already own.

C.03

Process improvement

Lean Six Sigma applied where it counts — removing the waste and variation from the processes that drive cost, safety and service performance.

C.04

Decision support & analytics

Turning operational data into models and insight that let leaders see the true dynamics of a problem and make confident, defensible calls.

C.05

Complex problem facilitation

Bringing structure to genuinely complex challenges with systems and design thinking — framing the problem so diverse stakeholders can move forward together.

C.06

Strategy execution

Closing the distance between a strategy on paper and results on the ground, through an experiment-led implementation that earns belief as it goes.

03 Method

The principle, unpacked.

Think big

Most transformations fail at the framing. We start by making sure we are solving the right problem — anchored to your objectives, with clear measures of progress — not the symptom that presented first.

Start small

No one knows every answer up front, and pretending otherwise is how big programs fail quietly. We identify the assumptions that matter most and test them through targeted pilots before committing the organisation.

Move fast

Momentum is a strategy. Short cycles keep stakeholders engaged and evidence flowing, so the change compounds — and is embedded in how the business actually runs, not in a slide deck.

Complexity is not a reason to move slowly. It is a reason to move deliberately — and to learn faster than the problem changes.
